The company

Galvan Masonry LLC was founded in January 2018 in Indianapolis. We're a three-person crew — small enough that the person who quotes your job is the person who does it, and the person who does it is the person you call afterward. We work on residential, commercial, and industrial masonry across Central Indiana.

We don't chase volume. The trade doesn't reward it. Masonry done right takes time to understand the wall, match the mortar, and set the material so it lasts through the freeze-thaw cycle that defines this market. A crew that rushes that work guarantees callbacks. We'd rather do fewer jobs and have them hold.

The crew

Three masons. One of us answers the phone, comes out to look, and writes the scope. All of us do the work. There's no sales layer between you and the people who'll be on your property — the person you talk to is the person who knows whether your chimney needs a repair or a rebuild, and why.

As a small crew we're clear about our capacity and our timeline. We won't tell you we can start tomorrow if we can't. We will tell you honestly what we see and when we can get to it.

How the work is done

Every job starts with the mechanism. Why is the mortar failing? Why did the brick spall? Why is there a horizontal crack above the garage door? If you fix the symptom without the cause, the work comes back — and so do we, on our own time, which is how you know we'd rather get it right the first time.

We match the mortar to the original — softer than the brick, matched in color, composition, and joint profile. On older homes that means lime mortar, not hard modern Portland-heavy mix. We use weathering-rated brick outdoors, because Indiana's freeze-thaw destroys interior-grade brick in a season or two. We pull permits where the work requires them and confirm with your local building department when it's unclear.

In locally designated historic districts, we work through the Certificate of Appropriateness process — the preservation commission reviews mortar composition, joint profile, and brick match, and a contractor who has been through it is worth more than one who hasn't.
