What Happens When You Call

No mystery, no pressure. Here's exactly what happens from your first call to a written scope — the estimate process, step by step.

1. You call or send a message

You call us or fill out the estimate form. Tell us what you're seeing — a crack, a leak, spalling brick, a wall that's leaning. You don't have to know what's wrong; describing the symptom is enough. Photos help but aren't required. We'll ask a few questions and schedule a time to come look.

2. We come out and inspect

We visit the property and inspect the masonry in person. We trace the damage to its source — not just the visible symptom. Is water getting in? Where? Is steel rusting? Is the wall moving? The inspection is the part where understanding happens, for both of us.

3. We explain what we see

We walk you through the mechanism: why the mortar failed, why the brick spalled, what the lintel is doing, whether the wall is still moving. You'll understand the problem before we talk about the fix. This is the entire trust strategy — a customer who understands the problem can tell whether the work is needed.

4. You get a written scope

We give you a written estimate that names the work, the materials, and the mortar type. It's clear about what's included and what isn't. No pressure to decide on the spot. Sometimes the scope includes the honest recommendation to wait — and we'll tell you that too.

5. You decide

The decision is yours. You can take the scope, compare it to other bids, think about it, or ask us more questions. We don't chase. If you decide to move forward, we schedule the work, pull permits where required, and do the job to the scope we wrote.

The whole process is built around one idea: you should understand your masonry problem before you spend money fixing it. A contractor who explains the mechanism is easier to trust than one who just quotes a number — because you can judge for yourself whether the work makes sense. That's the point.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the estimate process take?

From your first call to a written scope is usually a few days, depending on the schedule and the season. The on-site visit itself is typically 30–60 minutes. We give you a realistic timeline when you call.

What should I have ready when I call?

A description of what you're seeing — a crack, a leak, spalling brick, a leaning wall. Photos help but aren't required. Your address and a sense of your timeline. That's it. You don't need to know what's wrong — that's our job.

Will you try to sell me work I don't need?

No. Sometimes the honest answer is to wait, and we'll tell you that. We explain the mechanism behind the damage so you can judge for yourself whether the work makes sense. A contractor who explains the problem is easier to trust than one who just quotes a number.

Do I have to be home for the estimate?

Usually yes, so we can show you what we find and you can ask questions. For exterior work we can often assess from outside, but walking you through what we see is the point of the visit.

Let's take a look at it together.

Free estimate, no obligation. We'll tell you honestly what we see and what — if anything — it needs.
